What is Private Student Living?

As university accommodation is in high demand, many students choose to live off-campus. To support students exploring housing options, CEDARS facilitates access to private student accommodation through the Private Student Living Collaboration and Referral Scheme.

Through the Scheme, students can access clearer housing information and direct referrals to accommodation providers to support informed housing choices.

How it works

Four steps, in order — from browsing what is available to moving in.

1

Explore options

Compare location, commute time, price, room type, and what’s included online.

Browse listed accommodationCompare the residences in the scheme.
2

Apply & get referred

Complete CEDARS’ referral form. The accommodation provider then contacts you directly about viewing and booking arrangements.

Open the referral formSubmit your referral request to CEDARS.
3

Choose & confirm

If you decide to proceed, review the tenancy terms carefully and sign the agreement directly with the accommodation provider.

4

Move in

Get ready to move in on your agreed move-in date. On-site support may be available to help you settle in and connect with others.

Important — CEDARS refers students to accommodation providers; the tenancy agreement is between you and the provider. Read the terms in full, and make sure you understand the deposit, the tenancy period and how to end it before you sign or pay.
